Lately been frustating with my dad's Proton Wira 1.5 as I spent around RM300 to fix the latest problem with my alternator and battery. It's 11 years old car with mostly still a stock specification. I have been driving it for almost past 5years and lately it starts to burn my ass (I mean my wallet ;p)
I have rounds of discussion with my parents regarding cars and most of the time, they frequently asked me to change it to another new car, espcially my mum. How can I afford to bear a large sum of money to pay monthly installments?
Got a bad news from the second hand car dealer on my Wira, with the current market after the government set on a new regulation, it is only worth around RM9k++ for a 11years old Proton Wira 1.5. My instinct told me not to sold as it is totally not worth to sell it away since it is still in a very good condition. So I decided to re-furnish the car instead of leaving it to rot into a very wira-sucking-money car.
Been checking in and out in the Zerotohundred and LowYat.Net forum lately to find out more about modification of Wira. Actually not a real fan in car but this time I do gain lots of knowledge about the car that I am riding on. My mind tells me that it's time to pimp my ride! My Wira is in a nilam blue as stated in the document but with our naked eyes, it looks more like metallic purple. Actually I like car in dark colour especially black or dark metallic grey and now it is my chance to have those colour on my ride. Been asking a relative of mine regarding the paint job and he is giving a rather good price cum good quality workmanship.
Besides that, I am thinking to have a strut bar on my car chassis.
Major service will be another task for me to have. My all time mechanic that serviced my Wira is not very satisfying and I think I will look for another reliable and trust worthy one.
Some extrior will be re-furnished like changing my rear and front bumper plus a new griller. Tinted glass will be another things that I would really like to have.
Seems like it is a total change for my Wira but I still think it is worth it for me to spend all those month rather than purchasing another new car with all the stock specification and wallet-aching experience.
Anyone out there who is experience in all this? Please do spare me any good advice here...

YEs! add the strut bar! front and back.
improves road handling. while you are on it, upgrade the air filter, the ignition wires and the exhaust system. it will give your car a 30% boost in power.
more power = less fuel.

Sorry, talk so much I also duno what to advise u, in turn I might need u to advise me !!! I am so blur with cars. But some guys did recommend me to overhaul my car. that is about RM 2K.
Anyway, u have any problems with ur car ?

Complete set of Exhaust systems with enlarged diameters, 4-2-1 exhaust manifold extractors, Ramus intermediate muffler and Ramus rear mufflers = app. Rm. 1,200/set.
For the exhaust systems, there are many local made ones which are cheaper but also very high quality.
Don't know the true pricing nowadays though. Left this field for more than 10 years oredi. Now i drive with all the original specs.

Hey dude... I'm same like u :). I'm using my mom's 10 years old car. My parents asked me to sell but heck... I've to rob a bank to buy one hehe. So far I've changed the exhaust 4-2-1. Improves power though but drinks petrol in a large gulp like they said. Changed to a 15 inci tyre as well. I'm curious about the strut though cuz this is my first time hearing it... Does it only improves cornering? What other thing does it do?

strut bar is the a metal thingy that hold on to ur chassis lo... so handling will be better as it is claimed to be...
