The definition of starve
Just after reading Rojakz Daily on this post and deeply make me think twice about food wastage. From the posted picture in Rojakz Daily, it is a Sudan child crawling towards an United Nation Food camp, located a kilometer away and the vulture was waiting to it's meal for the day. The photo was taken by Kevin Carter (September 13, 1961 – July 27, 1994) , an award-winning South African photojournalist.
It reminds me of an incident when I was a kiddo as I did not finish my meal and about to threw away my food into the dustbin. My father was unhappy about my action and told me about the situation of his Indonesian workers. As he told me that most of them just cooked plain rice or yellow noodle without any side dishes just to save more money to send it back home. How terrible was the situation and that moment I was awake on my mistake. Since then I never waste any food that serve on the table. My mother always remind us about the situation about African countries where those people are lack of proper food and drink for their daily needs.
I've been all this hardship where I had not enough money to get a proper food during my college days. I took instant noodle for my lunch as well as dinner for a period of time. The hunger is terrible and I was trembling when I get hungry. It was a suffering and I just partially experiencing the hunger of the those who are starving for days.
Well guys, do not waste your food as well as water. Be grateful as everyday as we have a proper meal serve on the table. If you find yourself wasting your food, please do remind yourself on the picture of that Sudan girl below.

How to reduce food wastage
There is a huge opportunity to reduce wastage by adjusting shopping, storage and eating habits. For example, eating leftovers is a great way to reduce the amount of garbage that ends up being trucked to landfill sites. Reheating and adding some fresh ingredients can jazz up yesterday’s meal.
When shopping for food, only buy what you know you will be using in the near future. Sharing can be a good way to use foods quickly and efficiently, but if you are only buying food for yourself, consider buying smaller amounts and doing things like freezing half of a loaf of bread, while you eat the other half.
Another option is to buy foods that need to be used up soon. Not always the tastiest choice, but an excellent way to rescue foods from being thrown out, while at the same time saving money. The trick is to be creative: bruised apples can be turned into delicious applesauce, and veggies that are past their prime make fine ingredients for a big soup.
You can also feed your leftovers to the worms. Composting is a great way to return your peels, trimming and spoiled food back to the Earth. - taken from http://www.veg.ca/issues/e-wastage.html
