Many people is having hard time controlling their dual personalities since the Internet Relay Chat or better known as IRC was introduced in the last century. With more web developments, instant messaging like Yahoo!Messenger, MSN Messenger, ICQ, mIRC, AIM and lots more are a blast on the World Wide Web.
Most of the people use instant messenger (IM) to communicate with each other no matter how far both or a group of people are far apart from each others. Well, certainly there is always exist with the concept of ying and yang in everything. If there are good benefits, then there must be some weaknesses about it.
From the statement I quoted from an article called Instant Messenger Addict? Due to lack of face-to-face interaction, people tend to be themselves on the webspace but in the reality, they are totally different from the person in the webspace. I have a friend that I lost contact for several years and she found me thru Friendster. We usually chat and sms each others. I found out that she is kind of shy while chatting on the Internet while I met her last week, she is totally different from I expected from the beginning.
In another story, I got a friend called N and I knew N while I was working. N uses the nick B in Yahoo! Messenger. After a long series of chatting with N with the nickname B, I found out that N and B are totally two different person. In reality, N is another person while B is another person. It sounds crazy but this is what I feel myself.
Perhaps due to lack of face-to-face interaction, many people are more daring to express themselves to others.
So what do you guys think about it?

Because of the lack of face-to-face contact involved in talking over IM, people often feel more comfortable sharing details about their lives with Internet users they have never met in person, making it very easy for children to forget the adage of not speaking to strangers. And without actual interaction, there is a risk of corresponding with individuals who are not who you think they are.

If YES~tat's great coz u showing the real of u..However,it might b sad ..coz every1 noe u so well,so there is no more different among ur frens n ur intimate
If NO~tat's 2 bad,u r applying dual personalities ..conversely it might b good ..coz u r protecting urself n developing ur own world n secret...n u r able 2 decide who can get in2 ur fortalice
Yes O NO is not important
the most important is ~
